Ah, yes, kids everywhere are headed back to school as the weather cools and the stark heat of summer gives way to the crisp evenings of autumn. While summer may be behind us once more until next year, that doesn’t mean the fun has to end. There are amazing, family-friendly festivals coming up in the Finger Lakes so come on and squeeze in one last family vacation!

Kettle Fest
Saturday, September 17, 10am - 5pm

Kettle Fest is an educational and entertaining event for adults and kids alike! Learn about sustainable farming practices and artisanship alike with local food and beverages (both “adult” and otherwise!), live music, maple and honey cooking demos, and a variety of local artisans. Kids can participate in fun games, learn about beekeeping, and watch chicken races! Educational and fun for the whole family, Kettle Fest is a great way to get everyone outdoors and excited about farm fresh products. Purple Foot Festival
Sunday, September 18, 11am - 6pm

If you’ve ever wanted to try stomping grapes, this is your opportunity, at one of the largest grape stomping festivals in the Eastern United States! Festival food, winery tours, shopping, live music; for the adults, wine, beer, spirits, and hard cider tastings, wine seminars, a cash bar, and a sangria bar! There are crafts, karaoke, and more kids activities for the little ones. Of course, everyone can try their hand… er… feet, at grape stomping! Naples Grape Festival

Naples, NY is considered the Grape Pie capital of the world, and the annual Naples Grape Festival is the pinnacle of all things great about grapes. Held each year in recognition of grape harvest season, the festival celebrates a fruit dear to the Finger Lakes Region, the grape! Featuring artisan craft vendors, festival foods and specialties like grape pies and cookies, live music, and wine, as well activities for the kids. The festival is free to attend. Bristol Mountain Fall Festival and Sky Rides
Sunday, October 9, 11am - 5pm

What better way to take in fall foliage and the beautiful leaves than from the top of Bristol Mountain. The Bristol Mountain Fall Festival is a great way to get outdoors and enjoy the best of fall. Live music, food, beer, wine, and craft vendors; you can even take a sky ride! For a sky ride, the chairlift is slowed down and you and your family can take a relaxing ride up the mountain while basking in the beauty of Fall. Then simply ride or hike your way back to the bottom. The festival also features Bubble Ball, this a great chance to try out the zany sport you may have seen online or to play again if you’re already a fan. Admission to the festival is free.
