Time: 10:00 AM
In celebration of its 30th anniversary, the Land Trust is hosting 10 hikes lead by knowledgeable staff covering a total of 30 miles. Join us for one event, or attend all and hike 30 miles for 30 years! You can also complete the hike series on your own. Hikers who complete the 30 miles will receive a special gift from the Land Trust. Trail map coming soon.
Executive Director Andy Zepp will lead participants on a 3.8 mile hike through the 390-acre Wesley Hill Nature Preserve, home to the immense Briggs Gully, one of the largest gorges in our region. Diverse stands of mature forest—including about 10 acres of old-growth—a wide array of wildflowers, and sweeping views of the hills surrounding Honeoye Lake’s southern end make this preserve truly special. Andy will discuss the history of the preserve and the Land Trust’s role in acquiring it as well as its flora and fauna. The hike will last approximately two hours and will be followed by a barbecue in celebration of Wesley Hill’s 20th anniversary.
Except in the case of extreme weather, walks go rain or shine. Please check the Facebook page or web page for updates.
Please refrain from bringing dogs as they may impede the observation of wildlife.
