In 2019, Outstanding in the Field is organizing three special Community Table street dinners across the country featuring local makers, designers, artists and craftspeople. We will recognize creativity and community and set our table down the middle of the street to celebrate.
Linden Street is just off the main drag of downtown Geneva, where sophistication meets small-town charm. We’re hosting a team of skillful chefs from the Geneva area in the street kitchen. Christopher Bates is both an accomplished chef and a master sommelier with a thriving group of restaurants in the Finger Lakes. Chef Rafael’s Rio Tomatlán serves up the rich variety of Mexico’s cuisine with equal emphasis on local ingredients and unique south-of-the-border ingredients. Samantha Buyskes is a pioneer of the locavore movement and the woman behind the eclectic menu at F2T Kitchen. Chef Jason helms the kitchen of iconic destination Moosewood in Ithaca, elevating comfort food and putting the spotlight on local vegetables. The icing on the cake: Dano’s pastry chef Karen Gilman will apply her artistry to our dessert.
The Paillard-Elkin family helped revitalize the town of Geneva with the renovation of the old Farmer and Merchants Bank into an elegant gathering place and cultural hub now known as The Left Bank. Matriarch Sophie Paillard-Elkin, the spiritual center of Geneva’s renaissance, will be an honored guest at our table as we celebrate the region’s talented and creative craftspeople.
