It might feel like there aren't any places left on Earth that haven't been influenced by people but the Finger Lakes is proof you don't have to travel far to escape the reach of civilization. Hemlock-Canadice State Forest is located between Hemlock Lake and Canadice Lake and offers approximately 14 miles of marked hiking trails and lake views. Since these two lakes provide the City of Rochester with their drinking water, certain activities are restricted. These restrictions mean Canadice and Hemlock Lake are virtually undeveloped and offer visitors a truly natural and scenic experience.
