For more than a century the Smith Opera House has thrived as the center stage of the Finger Lakes, offering quality performing arts and cultural opportunities for area residents and regional visitors. Occupied approximately 250 nights per year with events open to the public, the theatre is an ongoing symbol of historic preservation, non-profit perseverance, and artistic excellence. The Smith is an architectural treasure in a fully restored, century-old theater. The Smith Opera House is a perfect venue for taking in a live performance of music, dance, theater or speech. The performances on stage range from modern rock concerts to children’s theater to dance theater, from world-renowned artists to community theater. The Smith boasts the largest indoor silver screen in the region and now features state-of-the-art digital projection. A wide variety of indie, classic and family films, as well as simulcast performances fill the calendar. For many live events, the downstairs cabaret is open and features wine from local vineyards.
