Marketing Messages
One of the most important roles we can play for our industry is to ensure that the businesses are connected and performing at maximum efficiency and with the highest degree of quality. In order to share our information and knowledge with our industry, we sponsor a variety of meetings or events, newsletters and email blasts throughout the year that will help achieve our and your industry growth goals.
Finger Lakes Visitors Connection held
their 2008 Tourism Legacy
Awards and their Annual 2008 Marketing Day at Bristol
Harbour Resort's beautiful new Great Room. The weather cooperated
and everyone enjoyed the breathtaking view from the patio.
Thanks
to all of the staff at Bristol
Harbour for making this a very smooth running event!
Here is where we will share some links to our PowerPoint Presentations and additional notes and information. Feel free to share this link with others
in the Industry.

Thanks very much, Kim, for coming up from Ithaca, NY to present for our 2008 Marketing Day.
This is a link to download the PowerPoint
Presentation from Pat Charland, Vice President of Marketing and Sue Schmidt, CMP, Director of Sales. There is a lot
of good information on these slides: stats and resources, current trends -

Not included on this slide presentation are Valerie Knoblauch's
comments; she chose to post her notes on the TIA
2008 Marketing Outlook Forum that she had just attended
in Oregon. This national tourism marketing session focuses
on the national efforts, forcasts and trends - Ontario County
is extremely fortunate to be able to tap into this resource
through Valerie's participation in TIA.

The e-brand manger in our office (Meg Colombo) also did not
include her comments in this slide show - but has included a listing
of some sites that are available for third

Of course, don't forget about maps.google.com | Go to the link that says "put your business on Google Maps".
Add a review about your favorite local place to eat,
or place to shop - along with your photos. It does take a bit of time, but let's share the
info with the world. What do you love about the Finger Lakes?

One of the companies that we have learned a great deal
from is called Hubspot and can be found at http://www.hubspot.com.
They have a tool that will allow you to get a free rating or
grade of the Social Power of you website. We did quite well
for a small county tourism office (if we do say so ourselves
>wink< )We were valued at 87 out of 100. They have very informative blogs. Go to the site and take a look around.
