Bristol Valley Theater, the Finger Lakes premiere professional summer theater will celebrate their 50th Anniversary on March 15th with a benefit celebration at the theater – 151 S. Main Street, Naples. The benefit will feature a reading of the hilarious backstage farce Noises Off, a gourmet post-show reception and live auction of one-of-a-kind prizes!
Noises Off will feature a cast of “BVT All-Stars” favorite actors from the theater's past and present, including Pam Feicht, Michael Perreca, Tommy Labanaris, Suzi Takahashi, Chris Henley, Julie Snyder Sherwood, David Shane, Katelyn Machnica, Karin Bowersock and George Hamlin IV.
“We're celebrating 50 years of memories and theater magic with some of the most wonderful performers who've ever trod our stage!” quipped Executive Artistic Director, Karin Bowersock. (And you can bet this is just the beginning of a spectacular anniversary season!”
The original Bristol Valley Playhouse was founded in 1964 by George and Mary Sherwood. The “theater on the hill” was located just outside of Naples on Seaman Road. Operations moved to its current location on Main Street in 1986.
Canandaigua National Bank Board Chairman and longtime BVT supporter George Hamlin, IV remembers “In 1989 I showed up on the hill to do a cameo on a dare…and thereafter for 17 seasons was lost in a dream land of theater”. Mr. Hamlin, who was last seen onstage in "Dames at Sea" in 2005 will return for the March 15th celebration and adds, “What a gift! What a ride! Congratulations BVT on a half century!”
Tickets to the festive evening are $50 and include the reception where guests can mingle with the cast and enjoy delicious treats prepared by Joan York Catering, paired with local Finger Lakes wines. $100 VIP Tickets are also available and include a pre-show champagne toast with the cast. The VIP toast will take place at 6:30pm, and the reading will begin at 7:00pm.
