The first Annual Finger Lakes Music and Wine Festival is presenting a diverse mix of music offerings such as; Classic Rock, Jazz, Blues and Country during its one day concert. Headlining on the main stage of the festival is The Little River Band, an internationally known group that is constantly in-demand throughout the US and Canada. The festival event includes wine and brew tasting from our very own Finger Lakes Region and 40 fine craft vendors for your shopping pleasure. This daylong event is located on the majestic shores of Seneca Lake State Park, Saturday, August 20, 2011. The Festival will open at 12 noon for shopping, food, wine and brews. Music entertainment will be provided throughout the day and evening. The festival will feature The Little River Band, on its Main Stage and Poison Whiskey (Lynyrd Skynyrd Tribute) headlining the second stage. Daily admission to the festival is free until 5:00pm and a $10.00 admission fee to the festival after 5:00pm.
The Little River Band was the first Australian band to successfully conquer foreign markets from an Australian base. Within eight months of their birth, The Little River Band (LRB) scored 3 Australian Top 20 singles and two Top Ten albums. Record success ran alongside - total record sales around the world have eclipsed the 25 million mark, 16 hit singles by 1985, as well as gold, platinum, and multi-platinum album sales awards.
The LRB of 2011 is stronger than ever and is scheduled to headline the main stage and will be performing such hits as, Lonesome Loser, Lady, Reminiscing, Cool Change, Happy Anniversary and many more.
The Festival is planned as a diverse mix of music to stimulate the palette of all festival goers with performances on two stages, headline the second stage is Lynyrd Skynyrd tribute band Poison Whisky. Too powerful of an experience to be considered a mere “tribute band” Poison Whiskey’s blistering white-hot live Skynyrd performance is one to be remembered. Poison Whiskey has been performing to sell out crowds in clubs, fairs and festivals for over a decade, with a lead singer who recreates the powerful, rowdy stage presence of the late Ronnie Van Zant with an uncanny resemblance. Polished lead and rhythm guitars in tandem with a rockin’ rhythm section, and honky tonk style piano, are the ingredients needed for a “southern – fried” Skynyrd ride! Poison Whiskey is so close to the real thing; when they perform you swear you were back in the 70’s all over again.
In addition to the amazing Main Stage Headliner; Little River Band and the blistering white-hot live Skynyrd performance by Poison Whiskey, headlining the second stage. The Finger Lakes Music & Wine Festival will also feature some of the best regional bands, such as Kid Kurry and Taran just to name a few. For a complete list of bands performing at this year’s festival go to www.fingerlakesmusic-winefestival.com.
The Finger Lakes Music & Wine Festival will also showcase a “tasting tent” with some of the best local and regional wineries & micro brewers from around the Finger Lakes region. The tasting tent will be a separate charge and festival goers will need to be 21 or older with proper ID to enter. Festival organizers have brought in some of the best wineries & micro brewers the region has to offer and put them all under one roof for festival goers to sample.
The “Taste of the Finger Lakes” food court will provide a culinary experience for the whole family with seating overlooking the Lakefront. The food court area will showcase some of the Finger Lakes best restaurants and catering companies from around the region. Taste of the Finger Lakes food court will still have your festival favorites such as, hot dog, hamburgers and sausage but while your there sample what the Finger Lakes region has to offer.
Festival organizers have solicited some of the best artists, hand crafted jewelry designers, woodworkers, potters and unique craftsman from around the region to participate as vendors for the festival.
