CANANDAIGUA --- An Instagram photo contest by the Finger Lakes Visitors Connection received an honorable mention at the 2015 Social Media Icon Awards in Miami this week.
The #FLXperience Foodie Revolution Instagram Contest challenged social media users to post photos of favorite food and beverage experience in Ontario County throughout the summer of 2014. Winner Julie Andzulis of Canandaigua, who uses the handle @sweetiepunk, won vacations in Naples, Ontario County and Naples, Italy.
The Finger Lakes Visitors Connection’s contest garnered more than 2,500 posts on Instagram and can be viewed via the handle #FLXperience. The social media campaign generated more than 3 million impressions across Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
The Social Media Icons Awards pay tribute to the public relations agencies, companies and individuals whose social media programs and campaigns forged new standards in excellence and creativity. The #FLXperience contest took its honorable mention in the Instagram Best Contest of the Social Media Icon Awards.
Finger Lakes Visitors Connection worked with Dixon Schwabl in Victor, Harris Studios in Bloomfield and Revault Media to create and promote the campaign.
