November 27, 2019 (Hammondsport, NY) – In Spring of 2018, Heron Hill Winery released their second bottling of Friends of the EquiCenter, their charity wine to benefit the EquiCenter, a 501(c)(3) non-profit facility that provides therapeutic equine activities for people with disabilities, veterans and at-risk youth located in Honeoye Falls, NY. Heron Hill more than doubled their production of the wine, leading to a donation of $9,200 this year. Heron Hill's Friends of the Equicenter wine is the latest example of the lifelong commitment in philanthropy and betterment for human interest from Heron Hill founders, John and Josephine Ingle. On Giving Tuesday, December 3rd, Heron Hill Winery owner John Ingle will present a check to the EquiCenter, Inc.
Owner of Heron Hill Winery, John Ingle has had a longstanding relationship with the EquiCenter, well before the idea of the charity wine came to fruition. John Ingle helped install raised garden beds to kickstart their now highly successful farm program. The EquiCenter Farm provides Therapeutic Horticulture and Advanced Vocational programming for veterans, in partnership with the Canandaigua VA Medical Center, noted as one of the first such therapeutic horticulture partnerships in the country!
“We are so grateful for the continued collaboration between EquiCenter and Heron Hill Winery. The generous support raised from the charity wine project will greatly enhance our ability to provide therapeutic programming for individuals with disabilities, veterans and at-risk youth, helping them to realize their true potential”, noted John Friedlander, President & CEO of the EquiCenter.
