Canandaigua, NY (July 31, 2012) – The New York Wine & Culinary Center will celebrate the Finger Lakes Riesling Festival weekend with their annual Rendezvous with Riesling event & several classes that coincide with the festival’s events. The Rendezvous with Riesling event will kick off the weekend on August 10, followed by classes on August 11 and 12.
New York Wine & Culinary Center Celebrates Riesling Weekend
The sixth annual Rendezvous with Riesling event features tastings of New York’s signature varietal with perfectly paired foods created by Executive Chef, Michael Sokoloski. Over twenty New York State wineries will participate in the celebration and seasonal New York State produce will be highlighted.
"This weekend is not only a celebration of Riesling, New York’s signature grape, but a celebration of New York State wineries," said Chrys Baldwin, education director of the New York Wine & Culinary Center. "It is a fun-filled weekend supporting local business."

The Center will host classes throughout the Festival weekend. Riesling –The World’s Best Food Pairing Wine will begin at 12pm on Saturday, followed by a Wine & Cheese Pairing class at 3pm. The weekend will end with more than just Riesling at the Wine 101 class that includes a tasting of ten wines and the answers to all of your ‘need to know wine questions.’
