Valerie Burba works part-time at the Finger Lakes Visitors Connection. She was born in Rochester, grew up in Fairport, and then moved to Palmyra where she has lived for 13 years. Valerie recently graduated from Finger Lakes Community College with an Associate of Applied Science degree in tourism management. She is married and has three wonderful, energetic children. She loves camping, fishing, reading, geocaching, and going on adventures with her family. Valerie loves the outdoors and you can most likely catch her in Canandaigua by the lake.

For the third summer in row my family is hosting a girl named Mimi from the Fresh Air Fund. The Fresh Air Fund is a program where children who live in New York City get matched up with a host family in a suburban or rural area to spend part of the summer with. My kids (Alyssa, Gavin, and Brody) and I were in search of a relaxing, fun day to show Mimi a slice of what the Finger Lakes has to offer.
