Opened on October 29, 1894, the Richardsonian Romenesque-style theater was the dream of local philanthropist and businessman William Smith, constructed with the vision of bringing culture and entertainment to the Finger Lakes area. The Opera House has remained true to its founder’s vision, providing a home for the arts in the Finger Lakes for generations of Genevans and city visitors.
The Smith’s virtual experience, The Smith Sessions, features recordings of regional musical artists from their living rooms. Sit back, relax, and enjoy these intimate recordings anytime, anywhere. The recordings give viewers the chance to contribute to the artists via their personal Venmo or similar payment account – think of it as an open guitar case on the sidewalk!
