Baker Park consists of 23 acres of park land and facilities on Buffalo Street. Features of the park include a jogging path, various game fields and courts, play equipment, space available to cross country ski, a covered pavilion, seasonal restrooms and parking.
Also explore the StoryWalk, a creative and educational all-weather activity that combines three family activities: reading together, spending time in nature, and physical activity. To create the StoryWalk, pages from a children’s book with easy-to-read text and great illustrations are taken apart, laminated, and displayed in permanent stands along a path to create an incentive for families to read—and move—together. As people walk the loop at the eastern end of the park, they can read the story, explore the illustrations, and interact with each other. New stories are displayed each month (one story stays up for the winter months). StoryWalk books help to inspire an interest in language and literacy, while encouraging healthy outdoor activity for both children and adults. Best of all, it’s free to enjoy and available to everyone!
