Things to Do
Winter Snow Sports
When the snow flies in the Finger Lakes, the fun has just begun. Ontario County has so many cool places where winter is wonderful. We have a full roster of outdoor and indoor winter sports and recreation activities.
Downhill skiers and snowboarders can head to Bristol Mountain, the only 1,200-foot vertical rise between the Rockies and the Adirondacks.
Glide through fields and forests on cross-country skis at Cumming Nature Center near Naples, or at Bristol Mountain's Nordic Center.
Show off those snowshoes at Harriet Hollister Spencer State Recreation Area in Honeoye, Kashong Conservation Area in Geneva, on the nature trails at Ganondagan State Historic Site or past sleepy snow-covered farmlands on the Ontario Pathways.
Take the kids (including your inner child) and toboggan to Dryer Road Park in Victor or Mertensia Park in Farmington for an afternoon of sledding.
Indoor ice skating is calling all Michelle Kwan and Scott Allen wannabes to lace up at the Geneva Recreation Complex and the Greater Canandaigua Civic Center, where you might also catch a hockey game.
Looking to hit the trails via snowmobile? The NYS Snowmobile Association has a full interactive map here to show you the trails you can ride in Ontario County!
