GENEVA, NY — Figaro is getting married this summer and what’s a wedding without a reception?

To help support its summer production of “The Marriage of Figaro,” Geneva Light Opera is hosting its 2nd Annual Spring Fundraising Benefit at 6 pm on May 6 in the Meritage Ballroom at Belhurst Castle and you are cordially invited to attend.

Treat yourself to a four course dinner replete with musical selections between courses by Jimi James and Marilla Lipker with accompaniment by Hilda Collins. A silent auction featuring a host of donated items by merchants and businesses throughout the Finger Lakes will also be a part of the evening’s festivities. Among those offerings are Finger Lakes wines/ciders/beer/apple brandy/vodka, works of art by local artists, gift certificates to restaurants and a therapeutic massage, vintage recordings of Gilbert & Sullivan operettas, and more. In keeping with the organization’s mission and the lighthearted nature of its offerings, dinner selections are all inspired by characters from Mozart’s classic: “Beef Bartolo,” “Chicken Cherubino” and “Vegetable Almaviva.”

Seating is limited. To reserve your space, contact Geneva Light Opera by May 3 at 315-789-8660 or info@genevalightopera.org, or visit genevalightopera.org.

All proceeds support GLO’s “The Marriage of Figaro,” July 25, 27 and 28 at the Smith Opera House in Geneva.
