Kayaking & Paddleboarding
There are so many ways to experience the naturally picturesque Finger Lakes, but the best just may be the view from the water! Choose any or all of Ontario County’s five Finger Lakes, select your favorite mode of paddling, and set out to discover your own paddler’s paradise.
Looking for a brisk paddle? Take a kayak out on Canandaigua Lake and navigate your craft past the stunning Bristol Hills. Seeking a bit more peace and calm? Canadice Lake is calling your name – at under three miles long, it is the smallest of the Finger Lakes and is entirely surrounded by picturesque wooded hillsides and virtually undeveloped shoreline. There is no speed boat, jet ski or water skier traffic making it perfect for a tranquil canoe ride.
The often calm waters of the Finger Lakes are also perfect for stand-up paddleboarding (SUP), a newer and growing favorite mode of paddling. Serenity sets in when paddle boarders become one with the water, lost in their own thoughts, as they glide across the lake on their boards. For others, group paddles and paddleboard yoga classes let them share the zen experience of paddling on the Finger Lakes.
Canoe, kayak, or paddle board, solo, or in a group, paddling in the Finger Lakes will create experiences you will not soon forget.
