While the nation celebrates the America 250th semiquincentennial, the story of independence in Ontario County extends far beyond a single anniversary. Known as the “Mother of Counties”—its original territory stretched from Seneca Lake to Lake Erie and was eventually divided to form 14 separate counties, including Monroe, Wayne, and Erie—Ontario County served as a gateway to the American West following the Revolutionary War.

Join us to celebrate America's 250th anniversary with events happening throughout the county, featuring fireworks, live music, historic exhibits, historical reenactment, family-friendly activities, and more.
