CANANDAIGUA --- Looking for Summer Fun that the whole family can enjoy?  Come on out to the 173rd Annual Ontario County Fair, which runs Tuesday, July 26 through Saturday, July 30 at 2820 County Road 10, Canandaigua, just off of State Routes 5 and 20.

The Ontario County Fair offers something for everyone: a chance to meet all kinds of animals, experience amusements, games and rides, enjoy festival  foods, live bands and shows and  demonstrations, and so much more.

Here are some highlights for the five-day fair:

On Tuesday night, July 26, Total Destruction Demo Productions is bringing you TOTAL DESTRUCTION!  Check out the Demolition Derby.  If you are feeling lucky, enter into the Spectator Drag Races. Plus see the first time ever the all-new Domino Race…who will make it to the end first? You’ll have to be there to find out.  All this is available for half-price grandstand admissions ($5 for adults, free for youth with adult on Tuesday). 

Wednesday, July 27 is Public Servant Day. Enjoy one of the many presentations by the Ontario County Sheriff’s Department. Learn about and share your ideas during the Town of Canandaigua’s Agricultural Economic Development Forum; enjoy the Taste of the Finger Lakes Wine and Food Tastings with music provided by Ryan and Ryan; watch the exciting Extreme Heli Freaks Remote Control Flying Show.

On July 28, roll back to a simpler time during our Throw Back Thursday. Enjoy our Antique Tractor Show, Classic Car Display; listen to the classic sounds of Ruby Shooz; take a stroll through the Mercantile Building and take in the Town of Canandaigua’s 225th Anniversary Agricultural Displays and Presentations.

On Friday, July 29, Ag Day brings you more exciting animal shows and demonstrations.  The real excitement starts at 7 p.m. with the Empire State Pullers/Lucas Oil Pro Pulling League Tractor Pull and the sounds of Flint Creek.

Saturday, July 30 is Family Day. Join in or watch the CNY Garden Tractor Pull; check out the latest craze with shows by Robotics by FIRST® Robotics' Canandaigua Team Robotics' Team TAN-X; enjoy more family displays and demonstrations; enter our Pie Baking Contest; watch the Kiddie Peddle Tractor Pull or the Denim and Lace line dancers.  Stick around for the Bike Give-a-way and end your evening the daring “Tip of Destruction” and Demolition Derby and Fireworks.

During the entire five days, you can enjoy lunch or dinner at one of several food vendors and listen to the local sounds of bands such as City Limits, Ruby Shooz, Flint Creek or the Spare Parts Band.  Walk through our many barns; take in an animal show or two; view arts and crafts; visit with McGruff the Crime Dog and the Ontario County Sheriff’s Departments presentation  “Operation Safe Child”.  All of this from dawn till dusk!

So much to do and so little time -- you’ll have no choice but to come back and see us again for more excitement and low-cost family entertainment.

Ontario County Fair hours are 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. Parking and general gate admission is $8 per carload or $5 single occupancy, motorcycles and walk-ins.  Grandstand Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for youth ages 8-13 Wednesday through Saturday (Grandstand Admission is $5 for adults and free for youth on Tuesday).
