Join the Finger Lakes Visitors Connection as it unveils the photography, art, local products and people of Ontario County that helped to make the happiest Visitors Guide ever. Finger Lakes Visitors Connection is showcasing travel happiness in Ontario County with the 2013 Travel Happiness Art Show. The public is invited to the Opening Reception on May 10 from 5 pm to 7 pm at Hazlitt Red Cat Cellars in Naples.
The art show opening is part of Finger Lakes Visitors Connection’s Happiness Project, an overall theme of travel happiness in Ontario County in 2013. The show will prominently feature tourism photos from the Ontario County 2013 Visitors Guide, including the photography of local professional photographers and amateurs.
“Rarely do people think of a travel guide as art, but with all the design, photography and artistic elements that go into it, it definitely is a work of art,” said Valerie Knoblauch, president of Finger Lakes Visitors Connection. “The art show is an opportunity to take the guide back apart and let people see the fabulous work that is included, as well as some of the photography that didn't make it to print.”
The art in the show features photos of authentic people having real fun in the Finger Lakes, says Knoblauch. “Real people are what drives travel,” she goes on to say. “Travelers want to see real travel happiness, and that is what is represented at our Travel Happiness Art Show and through the Happiness Project.”
The Opening Reception will also include a variety of wines from the Canandaigua Wine Trail.
