As the United States commemorates the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence in 2026, explore Fourth of July and America 250 events in Ontario County that extend beyond the holiday weekend, offering a full season of history-filled experiences. From exhibits and immersive cultural programs to live music and family-friendly activities, the season highlights and celebrates local history.

Manchester Car Show

If classic cars make your heart race, mark your calendar for the 6th Annual Manchester Car Show on July 11, 2026. This must-visit summer event is a beloved gathering that brings together a lineup of vintage cars, trucks, and specialty vehicles. And it’s not just about the cars—local vendors, delicious food, and family-friendly activities make this a full-on community celebration.  

Lincoln Hill Farms Bluegrass Festival

For outdoor concert lovers, check out the Lincoln Hill Farms Bluegrass Festival (3792 NY-247, Canandaigua, N.Y.) on July 11, 2026, from 6 to 11 p.m., for an evening featuring the Sam Bush Band and Yonder Mountain String Band, along with The Fretliners, plus craft beer and delicious food.

Canandaigua Art & Music Festival

Head to Canandaigua for the annual Canandaigua Art & Music Festival between July 17-19, 2026.  Set against the backdrop of historic Main Street (115 Main St., Canandaigua, N.Y.), this vibrant event brings together more than 150 juried artists, local student exhibits, and live art demonstrations that will spark your creativity and inner composer. As you wander through the festival, enjoy live performances on the Maxion Stage.

ChamberFest Canandaigua

The 22nd edition of ChamberFest Canandaigua returns to the Finger Lakes region with world-class chamber music between July 22-29, 2026. Enjoy performances including guitar solos, trio concerts, wine and music pairings, and more at any of the three events organized for this edition:

• A Night to Remember at The Lake House on Canandaigua (770 S Main St., Canandaigua, N.Y.) on July 23, 2026, features a five-course food, wine, and music pairing, accompanied by live classical music by harpist Bridget Kibbey.

• Bridget Kibbey & Friends at Notre Dame Retreat House (5151 Foster Road, Canandaigua, N.Y.) on July 24, 2026, offers an evening of music ranging from transcendent Bach to rip-roaring folk dances.

• An Evening of Elegance at Notre Dame Retreat House (5151 Foster Road, Canandaigua, N.Y.) on July 28, 2026, features a night of chamber music by the lake, with cello, violin, viola, and piano, showcasing both solo and ensemble performances.

Ontario County Fair

If you’re a fan of Ontario County’s fresh produce, farm-to-table offerings, and rich agricultural heritage, don’t miss the 183rd Ontario County Fair from July 21-25, 2026, at the Ontario County Fairgrounds (2820 Co Road 10, Canandaigua, N.Y.). This five-day celebration showcases the best of local agriculture, youth development, and community spirit. Experience 4-H youth activities, livestock and animal shows, live music, food vendors, Midway rides, free attractions, and more.

Canandaigua Lakefront Art Show

Another local tradition, the 53rd Canandaigua Lakefront Art Show returns on July 25-26, 2026, along the shore of Canandaigua Lake at Kershaw Park (155 Lakeshore Dr., Canandaigua, N.Y.). Enjoy lakefront exhibitions of artwork from local and regional artists, explore nonprofit booths, and enjoy tasty offerings from Finger Lakes food and craft beverages vendors. 

Indigenous Music & Arts Festival

For all culture enthusiasts out there, don’t miss the 2026 Indigenous Music & Arts Festival on July 25-26, 2026, at Ganondagan State Historic Site (7000 Co Road 41, Victor, N.Y.). Experience the rich culture and heritage of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy with social dancing, storytelling, and special guests from the Miami Tribe of Oklahoma. Enjoy artist demonstrations, a Native American Arts Market, family-friendly activities, Indigenous cuisine, and guided tours.
