There are loads of ways to celebrate dad this Father’s Day, and there’s one great spot to do so—right here in the Finger Lakes! Whether your dad wants to post up and try a new brewery or is determined to reach 10,000 steps before lunch, I have a couple of suggestions to make June 16 the best dad’s day ever!

For the dad who’s a history buff:

If your dad loves a great interactive exhibit, surprise him with a visit to one of Ontario County’s unique museums! Drive down to the Car & Motorcycle Show at Sonnenberg Gardens, walk through Seneca history at Ganondagan or learn about the history of trains at the LVRRHS Station Open House.

For the dad who always has music on:

Find music you’re all sure to enjoy at a Geneva On the Lake concert, Blues in the Beer Garden at the new NYBP Victor Beer Hall or spend Sunday Funday at Lincoln Hill Farms.

For the dad who thinks breakfast is the best meal of the day:

Beer and pancakes. Need I say more? Kettle Ridge Farm’s Pints & Pancakes is the event for a morning of fun.

The barn at Kettle Ridge Farm.

For the dad who always talks about the glory days:

Step back in time with Bristol Valley Theater! Their new show, So Happy Together, is a musical trip with folk roots and pop hits alike. Jam out to the music of a decade that redefined our culture!

For the dad who likes watching crime shows:

True crime is having a moment in the pop culture lexicon, so bring out your inner Nancy Drew or Hardy Boy with the Whodunit Murder Mystery Dinner Cruise aboard the Canandaigua Lady.

For the dad who appreciates art:

Indulge your inner art critic by attending The Lake Country Effect at Pat Rini-Rohrer Gallery—a show all about the rich colors and spectacular scenery of the Finger Lakes region.
