June is Pride Month—a worldwide celebration of the LGBTQ community! All month long, every major US city will have rainbow-clad parades and exciting escapades that recognize a full spectrum of sexual orientations, genders and lifestyles. But luckily you don’t need to travel far to embrace Pride. Mark your calendars, because Ontario County has a variety of local pride events happening throughout early June!

Every February, Americans honor the contributions and achievements of African-American culture during Black History Month. The overwhelming response and support of what started as a weeklong celebration in 1926 helped expand the event to an entire month 50 years later when President Gerald Ford beckoned the country to “seize the opportunity to honor the too-often neglected accomplishments of black Americans in every area of endeavor throughout our history.”
It’s a party in the USA! Grab your friends and family, book a room with a lake view and celebrate our nation the Finger Lakes way. With fireworks, parades and even a carnival, there’s no party like a FLX 4th of July party!
I know the drill. It’s the week before Mother’s Day and you’ve been waiting for inspiration to strike. Your mom deserves her own private island, but you only have enough money for a beach chair or two.

Autumn is drawing to a close. Most of the leaves have fallen, along with the temperatures, though there are the stubborn few still clinging to their branches, unwilling to move on to winter. Here in Ontario County in the Finger Lakes, the first snow has come and gone. But before we move on to winter, there's still more to celebrate this fall.
