Which Finger Lakes Mural is Your Favorite?

Wednesday, June 17, 2020 9:00 AM by Christen Smith

Across the Finger Lakes, murals dot nearly every corner of our area. A mural is any piece of artwork painted or applied directly on a wall or other permanent surface. And there are plenty to marvel in Ontario County! These gorgeous works of art promote local talent and engage the community by turning empty city walls into huge public canvases.

Jump in your car and plan your next day trip by checking out each of our murals up close. How many can you find?

Hiking the trails of Ontario County is fun to do in any season, but if you’re looking to add a new twist to your next adventure, consider Geocaching. Remember to adhere to social distancing guidelines when you head out!

Simply put, geocaching is a treasure hunt. It’s the activity of hunting for, and finding, a hidden object by using GPS (Global Positioning System) coordinates that are posted on the Geocaching website. The game is completely free, and you can download the Geocaching app to most smart phones, or you can purchase a hand-held GPS device to help you find hidden geocaches. Once you have the app or a GPS device, you can start finding hidden geocaches anywhere around the world!

Please remember that social distancing guidelines are still in place. Keep yourselves and our community safe by following all rules and regulations!

Building the Ultimate Finger Lakes Picnic

Thursday, May 21, 2020 9:00 AM by Kendall Knaak

It’s what I like to call the Finger Lakes conundrum. There are so many trails to hike and vistas to see, but there are also some delicious foods to be sampled around the area. How is one able to do everything at once?

Enter picnicking.

Fusing together a rejuvenating hike with Ontario County dining, all while maintaining social distancing regulations is a perfect warm weather day activity, and I am here to make it even easier. So, lace up your sneakers, grab your picnic basket, and let’s hit the trail!

Does this sound familiar?

You’ve turned on Netflix to discover you have no idea what to watch. Your last bottle of whatever-brand-you-could-find Sauvignon Blanc has just been emptied. You want to keep social distancing, but where do you go from here?
